Indigenous Lactation Counselor Course!

Indigenous Lactation Counselor is so excited to be able to share this opportunity to our community. For the first time ever we are offering three, fully funded Indigenous Lactation Counselor courses. We are grateful and raise our hands to our partners at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for this opportunity.

Indigenous Lactation Counselor is a 5 day, 45 hour foundation lactation peer counselor training for those that identify as Indigenous. It is Native taught and Native designed by Camie Jae Goldhammer (Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyaté) and Kimberly Moore-Salas (Diné). Camie and Kim are both Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and have 25+ combined years providing lactation support to Native families. They have taught 35 Indigenous Lactation Counselor trainings all across Turtle Island certifying over 550 Indigi-LCs.

We are looking to partner with three communities to bring an Indigenous Lactation Counselor training to your area before September 30, 2024! Please fill out the application below. We will accept applications through November 15, 2023 at 9:00am PST. Applications will be reviewed by Camie, Kim and a panel of Indigenous Lactation Counselors. You can learn more about ILC here.
